How to extend end recording time on a TV show.

I have found this new Telus box very user Unfriendly. Have noticed some shows are getting cut off at the end. The old system let you go into the show or series and add on a few minutes at the end so when the channels screwed up their timing you didn't miss the end of your show. 

When I looked into it the advice I got was to take the next show so it would catch the last of the first show. Nope not going to happen. It can be random so I'm not going to double up on scheduled shows just incase it is timed wrong.

Also, how in the heck do you delete a show when you are in it. I've tried every info, +, other options and can't find a convenient way to do it.The old system had an option to delete when you were watching it. Now I have to go home, go into shows and scroll down to it, enter then delete.
