Home Phone can look like its working but it's not

I have a Wireless Home Phone ZTE device (don't know the exact model number). Ever since I've owned it (3+ years), the lights will be all green, making it looks like it's working fine, but every so often, calls do not get through to my physical phone.

So I end up not knowing someone has called, sometimes for weeks, until I try making a call out. I need to turn it off and on for it to start working again.

People should be aware of this before signing up (and paying for!) this device/service.

retired telus tech, zte is handled by telus mobility tech support.  there are cellphone repeaters that will make sure it works everywhere, sometimes you might need more than one repeater depending upon layout, walls, building materials.  I have seen them through select authorized dealers and electronic stores.

I had contacted support but all they did was instruct me how to reset it (as if I didn't know that already).

I'm going to keep a log of trying make outgoing calls once per week, to start with, to hopefully get an idea of how stable it actually is.

The device is only 10 feet or so from a window but our house is on a hill and the room is on the uphill side. Because it uses a cellular connection, I'm going to move it to the downhill side (that faces the valley) and closer to a window to see if that helps.
