Hayu app unavailable on Telus Optik
I have not been able to access my Hayu app through Optik in several days. Today the message says "sorry, the application you have tried to access is temporarily unavailable. Please try again. Error code: 0. In the last 2 days I was able to start the app but as soon as I selected a show to watch, I would get a message saying it was having problems acquiring the license. I have tried rebooting the digital box.

I've been a loyal Telus customer for 22 years, and it's extremely frustrating that this issue has been ongoing for a month now. When will Hayu be restored on the Telus app?"

As stated in our reply from about a week ago, the Hayu app is no longer available for customers on our legacy platform, though it is of course still available on supported devices such as Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, and Android/Samsung Smart TV's.
- jenfost99NeighbourHow do I cancel my Hayu subscription with Telus? No one wants to watch it on their computer or Iphone.
- RjevningOrganizer
From my understanding, it won’t be.

I wasn’t notified by Telus either..took several phone calls and the typical “we are investigating” before I just gave up and changed my package. This is the second time it has happened. Biding my time..then goodbye Telus

it now says you can’t use it at all with optic TV box and that you have to use other listed options but you can continue paying it through your Telus account. What a joke!
- RjevningOrganizer
Right?!? Cuz my little 6 inch phone screen is an acceptable replacement for my drastically larger tv screen. This is the second time they have discontinued one of my theme packs without any notification and yet still expect my bill to be paid as per usual.. unacceptable Telus!

MicheleB1 Rjevning Pollyrs ChristineAS Hello. Notification has been sent out to customers advising of the update that Hayu is no longer available to watch directly through our classic Optik boxes. You can continue streaming on any of the following supported devices: Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Android and Samsung smart TV's. Your Hayu subscription is still active, so you'll still be able to sign in on these devices. Appreciate your understanding!

It now says you can’t watch it on the optic tv box and to use other listed options….WTF Telus!!
- PollyrsNeighbourRight?! So annoying.
- PollyrsNeighbour
Telus is getting super annoying lately. Making changes with no communication (and no sense). Why is the channel 336 not available- I have a stand alone subscription to Hayu and not giving a cent more to Telus. This, on top of other issues I’ve had (and called about more than once with no resolve) with them….it’s just a waiting game now until I cancel. Effin Telus

Has this been resolved? All my box keeps telling me is to subscribe to Hayu through Telus. It will cost me $20 more / month by doing that.
- RjevningOrganizer
As of Friday, no! The only solution given to me by Telus was to watch it on my iPhone, computer or tablet..lol. I’m pretty sure it was part of my “TV” package, but okay.. was not an acceptable solution for me so I will wait for my contract to run its course, then I will go elsewhere for my services.

Here is the update we didn’t get from Telus.. so for those of you, myself included, who have Hayu as part of their package, I’d be switching your options as we are basically paying for nothing at this point.
From Hayu Directly…
We regret to inform you that Hayu is no longer supported on Telus Optik TV boxes. We understand that this may be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
However, you can continue enjoying Hayu by using the following link:
devices.hayu.com
where you'll find a variety of compatible devices to access the service.
We hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
The Hayu team - Gman63Organizer
Looks like they have removed the Hayu app from the TV App section on 4K boxes. Channel 336 now shows a Hayu screen and a prompt "Get Hayu with your Optik TV package" . I'm guessing if you pay Telus for the Hayu stream access it should work now on channel 336. I have a stand alone account that used to allow me to access channel 336 to watch my shows. This is similar to Netflix (422) and Prime Video (424). Appears Hayu will be like Disney+ (470) and Apple TV+ (468) where Telus wants you to pay them for the subscription. I can't add the Hayu service to my Optik account as i'm on the older Legacy channel packages. Good luck everyone.

That's so frustrating because I have Hayu as a standalone subscription and not through Telus. I hate that they don't give us a warning and I shouldn't have to subscribe via Telus to access something I already have.
- RjevningOrganizer
Exactly what mine says..in saying that..why would I do this when I’m paying Telus to watch it on my optik tv?? Makes no sense why we are paying for something we have to access on a different platform?!?

If you want to access it through a different platform, you can always make changes to your current Optik package whenever you'd like!

So was there an "outage " or is Telus just not providing Hayu outside of their own subscription anymore? I have a stand alone subscription that I would like to know how to proceed with if that's the case.

Mine now says "HAYU is included in your optik tv subscription. Unfortunately it is not available on your optik tv box. Starting watching now via tha app on the following devices....Apple tv, android tv , amazon fire tv, Samsung smart tv, Chromecast, roku, Xbox.. "
