Connect to network access hub: external hard drive
I have a external hard drive connected to my router which have all my movies and TV shows on which I can access via samba share on my home network. Telus recently upgraded me to a network access hub and WiFi 7 booster, tried to connect my hard drive to the network access hub via the USB port just like I did before with my old router, and I login into the admin settings for the network access hub and It doesn't see the external hard drive in the samba share settings. Do you know what I'm doing wrong thanks

Another thing you could try is testing it with a different storage device, like a basic USB flash drive (formatted in FAT32 or exFAT) and toggle the Samba setting on.

In case it helps
I have boost 6 and had a look to find a tile for Sharing which includes Samba file sharing. The toggle was off, turned on it said nothing plugged in.
Are you seeing similar on Boost7 and when turned on it does not work?

I found something interesting under the hub setting device list. It does says there is something connected to the USB port (I assume it's my external hard drive) but has error that it needs a USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge. Does anyone know what that is and if they do where I can get one?
Thanks,

thanks, the exteral hard drive is designed to be powered by the usb connection (no other power source), does the hub usb connection able to power the drive to spin the drive?

It should. Hav eyou verified the specs? Log into your admin settings and look for a 'USB Storage' or 'Media Server' or 'DLNA' section. If you only see 'Samba' but no option to 'Enable USB Storage' then the hardware likely doesn't support it. If it doesn't, you could always considering using a Dedicated NAS plugged into the Hub via Ethernet. It'd be faster and more secure, and more importantly wouldn't break every time a firmware update is pushed. Alternatively, you could always try using your old router as a bridge.

A simple reboot, unplugging and replug? anything that can refresh the connection.

Hey jdesjar27 - From what I can gather, it seems that with the upgrade; some limitations with the system may have changed. Have you tried disconnecting the hub?
