Cloud PVR Annoyance - Extend Recording Time
I have seen the other posts regarding this question with no user-friendly resolution so I am adding this post at least as an "Enhancement Request".
I have had my "upgraded" TELUS Cloud PVR for several weeks now. I find a few things frustrating (like the noticeably slower loading of the Guide and the often flaky/freezing when advancing 30 seconds and/or rewinding 10 seconds) but my #1 beef is the lost ability to manually extend the recording time.
Two examples when I would use this on the older PVR:
- Jays in 30, which comes on Sportsnet and then replays several times over the next several hours. When the show is delayed for some reason, it often does not come on exactly when scheduled but you can usually count on it playing some time over the next few hours. I could extend the recording time by 2-3 hours and be confident I would catch it at some point.
- A show like "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" that might show a series of 5 or 6 old episodes in a row on FXX. I could record the first one, extend the record time by 3 hours, and then get a good batch of chuckles when I have time to turn off my brain and watch. With the new PVR, it's simply too much effort.
This could be avoided by either adding the "Extend Record Time" functionality like the old PVR or simply allowing a manual recording (e.g. Channel 912 from 11 PM to 2 AM). I don't think either of these are currently supported but it would be great to have them back.

People have been asking for the extended recording time since the system came out. It must not be possible or it would’ve been done by now.
