Closed Captions on Digital TV Box

Currently, the TELUS TV+ app uses its own caption settings, which are independent of the STB (set-top box) settings menu. This means that any changes made in Accessibility / Display / Closed Captions on the STB will not override or apply to captions within the TELUS TV+ app or certain streaming services. At this time, there isn’t a way to have the STB caption preferences automatically apply to live TV through the app. We’ve shared your feedback with the relevant teams as part of ongoing improvements to the Android TV platform and accessibility features. While we don’t have a confirmed rollout date for this functionality, your input helps prioritize these updates.
Has there been any update on this issue with Telus. New to the Telus digital (Androidtv) boxes and extremely disappointed in this. Subtitle size is simply way too large. As others have tried setting the caption size in device settings does not save, nor is the ability to resize from the TELUS side an option.

Appreciate you raising this. The subtitle size issue is on our radar, and we know it's frustrating that the workarounds aren't working. Our team is looking into it, but we don't have a solution yet. We've noted your feedback and will keep the community updated if anything changes
The Telus Support is substandard. These subtitles are INTRUSIVE. THEY DETRACT FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF WATCHING what you're hoping to be a positive experience for your patrons. I'd MUCH RATHER Watch NETFLIX or PRIME as the subtitles experience is pleasant. Telus subtitles are NOT. FIX THIS!!! CHRIST, have you NOT had enough time??? **bleep**...
No update. I'm about to install an Apple STB. Accessibility seems not a priority for Telus.
Tried to leave a reply from a AI search but won't save. If you do a AI search such as Gemini or Co-Pilot it does bring up some workarounds, unfortunately none worked for me, but may work for others. is there anyone on the forum where the captions can be changed and "stick".
Installed the Apple TV+ STB today, set up with Telus TV subscriptions and captions setting stick! Goodbye Telus TV STB.
