Can't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
Hello all, I recently had PureFibre installed, and am trying to connect to the admin page to change the wifi-password. I know that it takes 24-48 hours to do this on the MyConnect app, so I wante...

2 years agoWhich gateway / router do you have from Telus? Do you also have a Boost / Wifi 6 units from Telus?

Hi Nighthawk,
Its a Technicolor NH20T.
I do have two of the Boost units from Telus, and I have tried both of the admin passwords on each of the boost devices, triple checking to see if I made any capitalization or typing errors.
Neither of them worked. I only tried resetting the main router, as this is the router which I am connected to via wifi, and which has the same default password as the network.

The NH20T has it's own password / sticker. It's located under the lid of it that may or may not have a screw holding it shut. The Boost passwords have no relation to the NH20T. You can see the screw hole at the top center of the pic showing the lid. You will have to carefully pop it off and the sticker with the default password is under there.

It's very strange, because I got the Technicolor NH20T model name from my Telus Connect App. It is listed as: Modem (Network Access Hub) so I assumed this was the device, but googling shows that it is indeed a box. My modem however is a tall white cylinder (similar to the boost devices, only bigger) with the B21A model name at the bottom being the only identifier I can find.

I thought the tall white cylinder is the WIFI, the modem is the one the fibre goes into first, from there to the routerm to the WIFI

Hi, I'm very sorry, but it looks like I accidentally gave you the wrong model number.
The model number is B21A, and it is a tall white cylinder, not a box like the NH20T is.
My apologies.Again I found and used the admin password listed underneath the cover of the B21A, which is listed below the Default Wifi Network name and password, but it did not work. I know the boost password has no relation to the main router, but I did come across other users saying they had to connect to their boost devices to access the admin login page, so I tried them anyway. I knew this wasn't likely to be the case since I was access the admin page via the default IP (192.168.1.254) but still wanted to give it a shot.

The .254 IP is that of the "HUB", where the fiber is connected along with your BT21A. To login to it, use the .254 IP and its own password, found on its label. Call it the gateway ...
The BT21A has its own IP address to use with the password on its label. This IP address will likely vary with each installation. I used an App "who is on my network" to find the IP, having my phone connect to the (default) SSID.
The .254 (gateway) is where you setup the IP addressing and such.
The BT21A (main Boost) is where you setup the WiFi and such. The "satellite" Boost Mini sync with the BT21A (with ethernet cable) and then can be relocated as needed, preferably still connected with an ethernet cable/connection (best steady bandwidth) or through WiFi (eats up bandwidth, can be unstable, can bottleneck devices).
