Unexpected Fees After Area Code Correction

I did order online on this Tuesday to purchase a new device with a new mobile phone number, but the activated phone number was put to a wrong area code, I wanted to correct this, called 1-866-558-2273 to check how can I get the activated number fixed. An agent said he can fix this for me. After spend an hour with him, provided my driver license & credit card number, I got the number right. And he said will not charge me for mailing device. However, I checked my upcoming bill tonight, found I have 2 add-ons, one is the $25 mailing charge, the other is the connection fee $80. He did not mention there would be this connection fee, and I did not think about that either since I thought my order was an online order, online order will waive this connection fee. To save some money, I put in online order, and wait for the phone to send to me. There's a Telus store just 10 minutes drive, and I can have the phone right away. Why should I choose to pay connection fee together with the mailing fee with waiting 10 days for the phone? I thought he fixed my order, he just cancelled my online order and put in an order by phone. He did not charge those fees at that day to let me feel good. Now, all those fees are showing on my next bill as unremovable add-ons, the feeling is so bad. I spent my time, and pay extra, is this the way how Telus agent treat their customer?
