power cord for new Samsung S25 phone
Good morning
I recently purchased a new Samsung S25 phone with a new 2 year contract. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed that the cord which I assume is for power is not USB compatible.
Since I started buy these annoying units we call cell phones the cost has increased but the product has dropped both interms of quality and needed components, i.e. power plug in and power cords that are USB compatible, headsets, cleaning rag. etc
This is disppointing and not completely environmenally friendly, and certainly does not put the customer in mind. As before I can use the phone I need to power it and that apparently in an additional $35... I would suggest TELUS insist their suppliers provide proper cords that are USB compatible.
Finally I would also like to know who is speaking on the chat, it is AI because it has always been a waste of time and a place of frustration
thank you for your attention to this issue

Hi Kevin - as much as we work with partners, ultimately it is the manufacturer that dictates what comes and doesn't come inside the box.
To be clear, the cable that comes in the box is a USB-C-to-C cable. Are you saying that you are unhappy that the cable in the box is not USB-C to USB-A?

That is correct I am not happy that I have to purchase an adapter or a new power plug as everything I have uses the USB A
Thanks for your response, and I understand the challenges, perhaps TELUS could demand better products from the suppliers…

The U in USB stands for Universal and the industry amongst others are shifting to USB-C as it has many advantages over USB A. If we demanded better products we would have more USB-C devices.
I hear you about having to buy new accessories. I have purchased USB-C to USB-A adapters but I haven't used them in two years as I purchased a USB-C hub charger that includes both USB-C and USB-A. It is annoying but it should be a one-time thing until the folks over at USB determine a new standard but even Apple has moved over to USB-C thankfully.
