Is it possible to purchase a new phone but keep my existing plan?

so the answer is no then, I can't buy a phone from Telus as an existing customer without changing my current plan.

Not unless you purchase it outright. Getting a device on a 2 year term will require a rate plan change.
Can I purchase it outright through Telus? that's been my question the whole time 🙂

Your best bet would be to purchase a device from the retailer directly.
There doesn't seem to be an option for just a phone. Or do I have to go to a store in person? online it kicks me to select a plan after picking a phone.

Not available online, you'd have to go directly to Apple, Samsung, etc.

If you purchase the new device outright, there shouldn't be an issue. If just renewing and getting a new device (but not fully purchasing it) it's doable if the plan you're on is still in-market (available).
