Metcredit collection

I’m receiving emails from metcredit saying I’m owing 532$ to Telus, which I should pay them.

They also say they were authorized to reduce the balance to 266 if I pay within 3 days.

When I saw this I thought it was some kind of scam but after contact Telus I was told that this is related with an account that is closed for more than a year now, and the charge has something to do with a voip service, that I never had or used. The agent I spoke to told me that the account was never used so I shouldn’t pay anything. He told me he was going to send the information to metcredit in order to cancel the debt.

but this was months ago and I started receiving emails from them.

How can I solve this?

      How do I reach the payment services team?

      everytime I try to speak with an agent I get denied by the IRV.
