Hello Chris17, our friend Nighthawk is correct, mobile devices are sold unlock in Canada for a long time now.

It's unlocked by default if you're referring to a phone being locked to a single carrier. Any phone sold in Canada after December 1, 2017 has to be unlocked per CRTC rules.
