Google Play Charges to my Telus Bill
I canceled my account late last month (but have since re-opened a new account with Telus as I was unhappy with the new provider). My old account initially showed a credit, but that amount is now less...

I had the same exact issue. I NEVER subscribed for a Busuu subscription as I have never heard of it, nor need it, nor know how to subscribe to it. It appeared on my invoice in Oct, and realizing this, in Dec I called Telus to understand the charge, and learnt the same thing as Avalon. Telus said they could nothing as it was third party. The Telus rep helped us access the Busuu account, and we contacted Busuu to cancel it Dec 16, but its still on my Jan invoice. We had spoken to someone at Busuu in Dec, and now the same telephone number they have to contact Busuu to cancel the account NO LONGER works. We contacted Busuu by email, and they cannot confirm who the subscription is maWe are again appealing to Telus, AS A LOYAL LONG-TERM CUSTOMER, to solve this for us. I think it is a scam, and Telus should not be allowing third party anything to scam their customers.

Sorry - had issues with internet - Here is my correction to the last part of my comment above:
We contacted Busuu by email, and they cannot confirm the person's name on the subscription and pushed us back to Telus. No one can confirm that my name is on this subscription. We are again appealing to Telus, AS A LOYAL LONG-TERM CUSTOMER, to solve this for us. I think it is a scam, and Telus should not be allowing third party anything to scam their customers.

Busuu advised me to contact Digital Online Development customer care at 1 (437) 536 9235. They had record of a subscription using my number and I had them cancel it and send me email confirmation of the cancellation. Upon further inquiry with customer care, I got the date of the subscription and it was the exact date that I cancelled my service and switched to another provider (although I since returned to Telus). It's as though someone used my number to subscribe just after I cancelled the service. Very suspicious. (To subscribe to Busuu you would have to go to their website, enter your mobile number, after which you would receive a text message with a unique 4-digit activation PIN code.) Once I explained this to Telus and suggested this was fraudulent activity, they reimbursed me the subscription amount.
