Data Block feature costing $2pm
Anyone know what this Data Block feature is all about. What if I decline? Thanks. Mikey

2 months agoIf you want to avoid pay-per-use data charges, keeping the data block in place is recommended. Otherwise, the data feature can be removed. Just keep in mind that without it, any accidental data usage could result in pay-per-use charges.

I don't want a data block at all on the account in question. Tell me how to decline it. Calling your office is not practical as the waits are looooooong

After January 20, 2026 and the 1st $2 fee billing cycle then you can do so without calling in, from you Telus account based on the email/text message that I received. But good luck!
"If you would like to remove this feature before the increase takes effect, please call us before January 20, 2026. After that date, you can add or remove this feature online or in store—along with the call-in option currently available—just like any other plan or add-on."

So sorry about the length.
Thank you for this info. I guess I was so incensed by this obvious cash-grab that I didn't notice the info about having to call to cancel this feature Telus couldn't be bothered to inform us about.
That said, though the eMail specifically states the you must call, there neither a phone number to call, nor a phone number, I can find, on the Telus WEB site, even if I log into my account.
Before I committed this post, I was going to ask to you to please post the phone number you called? Then I decided, as a last ditch effort, to try the YellowPages.ca WEB site. A search for Telus Mobility returned all the shops and boutiques in Montréal. Finally, at the bottom of 5 screens, I found TELUS Wireless & Cell Phone Services. The Telus number I was looking for is 1-800-463-3633, hopefully it will work.
I don't have data on my smart phone, it's strictly and emergency phone! (I need it because of my health and there are very few, if any, pay phones around these days.) So. I need a number I can call from my land line (home phone) (See above.) so I don't use up the air time on the emergency cell phone.
Thank you so much for all the effort and trouble you went to as well as any future help you can provide.
P.S. When I called the voice system was as uninformative as the Telus WEB site. So I got a home phone agent who 'transferred' me the a mobile agent only to get a ore-recorded message that 'The offices are closed.'
Thanks again tsk3238 and everyone else who's contributed to the conversation.
P.P.S. Telus would do well to monitor this forum rather than ask people to select the per-determined answers they want to hear to per-determined.

Here are the Telus numbers:
General: 1-800-777-1888
Porting: 1 (877) 868-3587
Client Care: 1 (866) 558-2273 (time wasting to get connected and speak to a live-person)
Call Back: 1 (888) 811-2323, 1 (855) 255-8828. I logged-in online and requested call back. I had the choice of time frame to call me to my non-mobile number (home phone) to avoid burning up my minutes waiting.

Me with a different username (Telus doesn't like my logins for some weird reason). Resolved by contacting Telus support. the line on your prepaid account is for a data block feature at $0. Easy to miss.
