Confusion around "travel" information and the 5G+ Complete - Unlimited Explore plan

I have a phone on the 5G+ Complete - Unlimited Explore plan.  When I go to "Travel" on My Telus and I put in a country that I understand is supposed to be covered by this plan for calls and data roaming - eg. Australia (one of the 68 destinations covered) - it says "You're covered for Australia with Premium Easy Roam INTL - pay per use" instead of the saying "You’re covered for Australia with your 5G+ Complete Unlimited Explore".  If this is true, there's clearly a problem.  This plan says:

- Unlimited talk and text in Canada and 68 international destinations

- 5GB/day of roaming data in 68 international destinations at full speed, and unlimited data at up to 512Kbps thereafter

- Easy Roam from $5/day outside included 68 international destinations.

  • First, you will be absolutely covered in Australia. What you are running into is a known data-mapping lag in the front-end of the My TELUS Travel web tool. When our product architects launched the 5G+ Complete - Unlimited Explore plan, they built the 68-destination roaming rights directly into the core rate plan itself. However, the automated Travel Tool web portal is still looking for the old, legacy "Easy Roam" add-on code to display a green light message, so to speak. Because it doesn't see that specific add-on, it defaults to displaying the standard pay-per-use/Easy Roam warning text. It’s an interface bug, so you'll still be covered no problem.

Hello Newbie71, can you tell us what's wrong with the plan in question ?

The problem is what the My Telus “travel” feature says. If you enter that you’re travelling to the US, it says that the US is covered by the plan. If you enter that you’re travelling to, for example, Australia (which is in the list of countries covered by the plan), it says that Australia is covered by Premium Easy Roam. It should say that it’s covered by the plan.
