Bring it back refused due to minor wear and tear

My bring it back was refused due to minor wear and tear. Their actual quote is “screen and/or back glass have light wear and tear, such as surface scratches and/or scuff marks”

  • How does this not meet the “good working condition” standards that they listed?

They say it’s done and not reversible and there’s nothing they can do

*You are required to return the original Bring-It-Back (BIB) device on your account. Bring-It-Back device returns must meet all of the following device eligibility criteria:

  • The device powers on and can navigate properly to the home screen. The LCD display functions correctly and the screen does not have any dead spots or bruising. The screen is free of cracks and damage. There are no missing parts (hinge, keypad, housing, buttons, battery door etc.). The Activation Lock is turned off (for example, Find My iPhone). The phone has not been reported as lost or stolen

And now there is a mandatory $16.50/month fee supposedly to fix a phone on a bring-it-back plan…but it’s just another fee because that company does not fix the phone or help you return the device.

Likely it was denied due to the physical damage on the device.

None of those apply to my phone.

As I said, they found "screen and/or back glass have light wear and tear, such as surface scratches and/or scuff marks” That was their exact quote. That is well within "Good working condition"

Customer service informed me that the standard was that the phone must be sent back in "PERFECT" condition or it will not be accepted. There is no where that states this in the contract or website.

I'm quite frankly ready to simply leave Telus over this.

Hey Gamble - Was the phone returned via Bring it Back, or was it processed as a Trade-in?

Trade-in does have more restrictions so that makes more sense. We can send you a private message to assist you
