5G and LTE Mobility Signal in Lavington BC

Restoration Lands is the owner and developer of the Okanagan Industrial Eco Park in Beautiful Lavington BC . Because of the location of the Tower that serves this area, the 445,000 Sq.' Building, and most of the 18 Industrial lots, their tenants and employees suffer from very weak, or NO signal. We have been trying to contact Telus for years to see about a Micro tower to boost signal in our area. Cellular service is not a luxury, it is necessary for commerce, safety, security and could be a serious matter if contacting emergency officials in the event of an incident. Restoration Lands Inc. has invested heavily and has just completed infrastructure in Partnership with Telus to install Fiber along Learmouth road and our industrial park. RLI's goal; is to see 1000 jobs on this site when it is fully built out.  We know that all of the companies and employees, as well as all of the neighbors will benefit from improved services as the existing tower is blocked by a hill, which is the culprit from the poor network. Can someone at Telus contact me and take this on ?  Michael Molnar, CEO, Restoration Lands Inc.

Yes the tower north east of Lavington is behind a mountain. The other Telus tower is on top of a mountain east-southeast across the valley (map). That's give or take 10KM away with a direct line of site from Restoration Lands itself, and 12KM to Lavington. The towers west of Lavington in Vernon are small ones and have low broadcast power since they cover a smaller area so they wouldn't likely be providing service to Lavington.

Getting a tower of any kind built is not a simple or fast process. There are a lot of regulatory hurdles that have to be dealt with first. I'd be curious to see if a microcell is even possible at all and whether or not the cost is within reason. I'd hazard a guess that it'll be quite expensive.

  • Are you under the umbrella of the signal, as in it goes over top of you. I experience that as well in Delta, at least you have 5G (almost)

Any Chance your contacts responded to work toward figuring out next steps ? if you can email me a contact, I can follow up, this is the same challenge with Telus I eluded to in my original post 3 weeks ago. Are you able to find out at least if the nearest tower is shared with other carriers, maybe I can reach out to them if that's the case ?
