Telus Business Connect - google 2FA SMS not getting through

Our company has Telus Business connect. I'm using the desktop app.

I'm not able to receive google 2FA SMS in the desktop app. Just tried to sign up for a google account using my business connect number and ran into this.

I'm able to receive SMS in the desktop app when testing on my cellphone and from customers.
