Fibre nightmare
Telus is our only option for wired internet. To have Rogers, connect us would be prohibitive due to our location. We have had nothing but problems, all human (Telus), caused. We have been without service for 13 of the last 21 days. Last year we installed an LTE fallover which doubles our monthly cost because we cannot rely on Telus. At least we can continue to process transactions, which is why we are connected. These are the remarks from the 'resolution specialist' who was eventually assigned to our case: 'Root-Cause Analysis (August12/13 ticket100042279514) The service interruption occurred because the customers FDH tail was physically unplugged at the distribution hub'..Details of Subsequent Failure (August 17,ticket100042298354) ...follow up outage caused by the same issue - FDH tail unplugged again.'
Another 'resolution specialist' says the following..'this was not a typical technical glitch, but a result of human error at the junction on ****St.'
As of Wednesday this week, Sept 2nd, we are without Telus internet service again. One of our Sr. mgt contacted Telus technical support to be told that 'the service address could not be confirmed'. We reached out again yesterday, with more success, a service call is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, 6 days post event.
We have been in business, and a Telus, (and BC Tel) customer for 37 years. For the first 20 years we received exceptional service. It's been downhill ever since. Our options are suck it up with Telus, or go with an LTE or satellite connection. For what we do, we need stability and bandwith, so fibre is the most ideal and logical solution. We consider our LTE fallover an emergency back up, which we are now running with full time. We've contacted the CRTC etc. What we want is what most people have. A stable connection, that is not subject to random Telus service contractors unplugging, for whatever reason.
If anyone knows a way to contact someone at Telus, who could effectively sort this out, we'd pay for the info...
Thanks.
