Sensors staying active too long

Hello. I'm new to Telus security. Does anyone have trouble shooting suggestions for sensors that stay active for long after it senses activity? When I leave the house, the doors are immediately idle but the upstairs and downstairs motion detectors stay active so are bypassed. So when I alarm the system upon leaving, only the doors are actually alarmed. It seems to take ~30 minutes for them to go idle, in which case I then have to dis-alarm then re-alarm my home so that the sensors are alarmed. I've called Telus and no one seems to know/understand how to change it...
