TELUS E-mail "Upgrade" to TELUS E-mail Powered by Google - E-mail on Outlook (2013 & 2016) & iOS

I'm looking for some answers that aren't (at least with my initial searching) obviously available on the TELUS website.

My questions concern the upgrade to "TELUS E-mail Powered by Google" at:  https://www.telus.com/en/ab/support/article/faq-telus-email-migration

I'm wondering about how the upgraded e-mail works with Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016 and with the Mail app on iOS devices. The prompt for the 'upgrade' seems to occur when one logs in via webmail.

• If one never uses Webmail (I don’t use Webmail at all as I use Outlook on my computer and the Apple Mail app on my iPhone), do I still need to do the e-mail upgrade?
• I’m assuming that I do still need to do the upgrade (I’m thinking the TELUS servers will go away at some point!) but I wanted to make sure.
• Will I get an e-mail notice of the requirement to do an upgrade or should I just start this upgrade process myself?
  
  
• When the e-mail is upgraded are the Outlook settings still the same as on the TELUS webpage? The reason I ask is that these look exactly like the current settings that are for the TELUS hosted e-mail (unless the Google based ones are identical):
