Tech had me install app
a tech had me install an app called techsee instant mirroring so they could observe me complete a speedtest. Is this normal? I just want to make sure I didnt install a malicious app?

If it's the legit TechSee app from the Apple App store or the Google Play store then it should be safe.

Did you have an issue with you internet speeds? Did someone call you? There is no need to install a mirroring app to run a speedtest. The common website for speed testing is speedtest.net you can share a URL to the results. I would Delete this app ASAP.
