Pole maintenance gaping hole for fiber to home
Critters, water ingress and vandalism will sooner or later compromise my fiber to home service otherwise excellent thus far after 4+ years. The pole connection to a conduit to my strata also looks most unprofessional and invites mischief on my back-alley. I have reported the problem to countless Telus contractors servicing the pole over the years (3 individual fibers cables were added through that conduit over the years). I finally managed couple weeks ago to get a Telus agent to enter trouble ticket 1060527106 (in the "skeleton" category), pole 2480549. I was told it would be attended the next day. Nothing happened. Tried to file some pix work showing the gaping hole shoddy work and now a duct tape job to flag this out. Last attempt got me to "AskExperts" (I used to work in telco switch rooms in my active years). Let's say I am a wee bit frustrated about the lack of basic pole maintenance in old Kitsilano. Help?
The panel left on the ground and the rest of the mess was finally attended today by actual Telus tech Vahid, not a contractor that had messed earlier. It turned out that the panel cover could be inserted and left unlocked in the absence of the special locking key.
Vahid also checked the huge casing gap on the back-alley pole (still duct-taped over), explained it was handled by an other group but committed flagging them the problem. I trust it will come true some day and will close this. What a relief...

Nope. The panel cover was left on the ground and I had to put it back without the special panel locking key. So I duct taped it over. Furthermore a bunch of **** (cut cables and part wraps) was left in the panel. Hence my "family circus" of a shoddy job in the distribution room. Somewhat similar shoddy work was also depicted on the telephone pole casing on the back-alley showing a huge gap to the strata building PVC/concrete block. But Telus blamed Shaw instead for also using this conduit and too ignoring the gap exposing the cabling to critters, to water ingress and vandalism.

Hi - the verification has been done. To be clear, the issue you are highlighting on the panel is the gap between the door and the frame?

The link no longer works:

Frustrated beyond belief. Most people in their right mind would have given up a long time ago on the support fortress you have built. What's next now???

My wife was able to log in. Not sure about the last private message. Is it not this one, what now?

No private info whatsoever on this one. Tilting the Android phone opens up the User Interface feature I was seeking earlier on.

Yes both Internet fiber, TV and landline. Filed in my original Skeleton trouble ticket closed way too early imho.

3rd pix shows my duct tape job after the unfinished job Telus panel in our small
strata commons room

Finally can post three pix (only doable on a PC to my great surprise). Only 2 allowed at a time. 1) Gap first report 2) After my first duct tape job 3) Patch panel duct taped too after tech left job unfinished

Try from a desktop browser. When logged in and replying, above the field to reply there is a small camera icon that you can select, and then if you choose 'From Computer' it'll let you navigate to where the image is to upload it.

This can be done when replying to a private message as well. There'll be a little camera icon directly underneath the field where you type in your message.

Telus Community asked me if I was satisfied of the resolution of the problem, which consisted at pushing back to Rogers/Shaw with who the telephone pole casing gaping hole is shared, and closing the Skeleton trouble ticket I somehow managed to open earlier on. I was asked to simply follow up with them since it was not solely a Telus problem. Of course, Rogers/Shaw mainly avoided after I spent countless hours trying to convince various customers support folks that they needed to work out this issue with Telus. I didn't even manage to get a trouble ticket or file pix, and the chat exchange with "technical support" kept going to limbo where it stands now. So I ended up grey "duct taping" myself the gaping hole to prevent against critters, water ingress and vandalism. It is a temporary solution that at least looks better that the earlier neighborhood eyesore. Oh sigh.
