Scam Callers
In the past, I have been receiving a couple of scam phone calls to my cell number per week, easy enough to deal with. However, starting last week I have been receiving multiple calls per day... today in the 5 hour period between 9:15am and 2:15pm I received a total of 17 calls, all of them showing different numbers and area codes around Canada and USA on my call display. I have set my phone settings to "silence unknown callers", but this is still a major annoyance. On the couple of calls that I did answer, the caller speaks with a very heavy foreign accent, calling themself "Mike" or "John" or "Mary", then proceeds with the standard CRA or credit card or other scam script. How is it possible that a major telecommunications company either can not or will not eliminate incoming calls from India and China and other foreign countries and continues to enable these scammers? Why is it possible for people to fake their caller ID number? What's the point in even having call display? Is there an option to block all incoming foreign calls? I feel bad for the people who fall victim to these scammers, but there must be some accountability from the telecommunications companies that allow these scam calls to enter the country in the first place.SolvedAutomatic switching to LTE
Hi folks, I am using an iPhone 15 pro max. For those that know Vancouver, I ride the West Coast Express and find that through Burnaby and into East Vancouver, my phone has pretty mediocre service in 5G. One thing I noticed however, is my phone won’t auto switch into LTE mode when the connection on 5G is poor. I have my phone set to 5G auto but doesn’t seem to make a difference. Hey everyone, I’ve been facing a strange issue with my fibre internet connection where it drops every few hours for a few minutes and then reconnects automatically. It’s not a complete outage, but enough to disrupt video calls, streaming, and work. I’ve already tried: Restarting the router and ONT Checking all cable connections Updating router firmware Still seeing the same issue. I’m trying to figure out whether this is: A line/signal issue from the provider Router compatibility problem DHCP or IP lease-related issue Has anyone experienced something similar? If yes, what ended up fixing it? From what I’ve seen, stability is just as important as speed when it comes to fibre connections. A lot of users now look for the best internet provider that can maintain consistent uptime without frequent drops. I paid 2 days late on Feb 12, 2026 for my prepaid plan instead of Feb 10 and the account has not been activated; I can't use the phone. It is impossible to talk to anyone, and I don't know how to use the credit that I have of 100 CAD, so that it can be transferred to pay for the prepaid plan for 365 days . I really need the phone and for 1 and a half months I could not receive any messages or calls. I currently have a credit balance of 100 at TELUS and prepaid plan for 365 days is also 100 . My old Wireless Home Phone (WHP) was a POS since day one and finally totally died. After a day and half of getting the run-around, I finally got Telus to send me the latest model. They didn't mention any change to my bill only for me to now discover that they: Changed my plan from $12/mo. to $30/mo. Charged me an $80 connection fee, even though all I did was move the SIMM card. Is anyone else having an issue with the Webstore? I placed an order and yesterday they emailed saying they tried to call me to verify the order and it is on hold currently. The number they called is my ipad sim - so I did not receive the call. I called back immediately and got to the part where the system said it was transferring my call and then suddenly it just cuts off. I have made 18 calls since last night and this morning and all with the same result. I emailed the address they provided twice. I contacted support through the chat and tried to schedule a call back which put me in an endless loop of "no callback is available at this time" along with their not being a scheduled call back time available. My plan states “Nationwide data, talk and text” - am I to assume USA text is extra and I need to add the optional add on for that? Woke up this morning to discover that my phone won't connect to the network - full bars with an exclamation mark. Soft and hard resets haven't work. Pixel 10 has a "reset internet" function on the connections page, tried that. Is my literal next step factory reset before I try and return it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. My current Talk & Text 100 plan expires on Apr 3. When I got it with the "BONUS100" code, there were promo addons included: Unlimited talk and text and 2 GB monthly data. The fine print read in part "In order to maintain this promotion, you must renew the original rate plan prior to expiry". but it also included the caveat that "Telus Prepaid has the right to terminate or change this promotion at any given time". So my question is: Has Telus rescinded this promo renewal? I have an EPP account with Telus with 4 lines attached. One line belongs to my daughter who is currently overseas. In order to keep her phone number (but not pay the monthly plan bill) I wanted to switch her line to a Telus prepaid account. I spoke to 12 agents at Telus. None could assist me. I kept being bounced around from corporate to prepaid, back to corporate.
